BENCHED brings together 40+ designers, architects, artists and makers to reimagine one familiar object: the bench seat.

Presented by Public Private as part of Adelaide Design Week 2026, each contributor responds to the same playful brief - 1200mm wide × 450mm high, with a $450 production budget. The result is a diverse collection exploring materials, resourcefulness and the possibilities of everyday design.

Discover work by emerging and established creatives within the historic Queen’s Theatre, celebrating the ideas and processes shaping Adelaide’s creative community.

Free entry with RSVP recommended. Everyone welcome.
